A research team of five from the University of Eastern Finland will spend their summer field season in North-West Russia near the village of Seida, about 70 km away from city Vorkuta.
They will research carbon uptake and loss in the area and oil soil destabilization due to warming climate and permafrost thawing.
The research team will write regular blogs to let us follow their reserach and life in the remote Russian field station.
